Brands- Little Miss Tricker

How many of these do you recognize?
Are well-known brands directly proportional to the quality of their products?
Well, some yes, some NO!
So, yesterday was Father's day, so our family took our father to an all-you-can-eat buffett for a treat. I thought it was just a typical dinner that I probably would not take a close observation on, yet, I still find some more interesteting patterns that people seemed to follow.

I think people just follow what others are doing. There was no one noticing the soft-drink frige, until I went there and pull some drinks out, and while I was walking, people were just staring at me like if I was a freak or something(no cool, that kind of scary eyes staring is worse than being stared when I'm upstage performing). Suddenly, a person comes up to me and asked me where did I get those, and does she need to pay for it. I pointed at the fridge and said no. I thought that was the end of it, but I thought wrong. There's another person, follow another one as I walked towards my table, and asked me the same questions. I was like Wow, that was weird. Is it because of Coke that I am holding rise up their interest to drink it? Or is it just because people haven't notice( or doesn't have to courage to pull the drink out of the fridge)? Anyways, I guess that is just because of the brand Coca-Cola was written, I mean, there were still soft-drinks on the other side that people are lining up for( except those are just random brands), and all of a sudden, people went to the fridge and get like a dozen cans of the Coke. People follow that pattern pretty quickly, I thought.

That is not the only thing that I observed last night about brands. Honestly, I don't get why, but I thought it had something to do with the brand and the price of the product that the brand is selling to the customers.

When it was finally time for desserts, people just rush up to the ice cream fridge and trying to get some ice cream. There were a fridge exclusively for Haagen-Dazs and a fridge for a random brand. And here's that. There were no one lining up for the random brand, and decided to line up for Haagen Dazs. People even just pick up the scoop for the random brand to the Haagen-Dazs fridge just so they can get the ice cream faster. I don't get why. Probably, people just want to get the most value out of the buffett money? I don't want to wait for the long line, so I decided to just ask for a scoop from a person who is not scooping, and quickly get some ice cream from the random brand and left. Wasn't that simple? And I don't have to crave from ice cream by waiting in the endless long line for Haagen-Dazs.

However, I started to want to do something. So I went and scoop a scoop from Haagen Dazs, and another scoop from the random brand, and asked my brother to pick which one is which. He pointed at the random brand and said this one is the flavor that I like better, the other one is just fine, but too sweet for me. Yeah, I think I have the same feeling too.

So, I just wanted to use this story to show that Well-Known Brands are not neccessary the better ones. And to add that up more, THE OPINION OF THE MAJORITY IS NOT ALWAYS RIGHT!! Just because people are lining up for something, DOES NOT MEAN SOMETHING IS BETTER!! SPEAK FOR YOURSELF, AND THINK ABOUT THE VALUE OF THE THING, NOT ABOUT WHAT OTHERS SAY ABOUT IT!!

So, I don't have a song to relate this topic to, but um, I thought of the Denny's Line for Free Breakfast Tradition after every Super Bowl Game. So, if you never observed how crazy it was, here's a video that you can watch. Honestly, that was good, cause I been to one. Just showing this so your ANTS can know how crazy people can be to follow after good deals.
As always, leave me a comment about anything, or in particular, why do you think people line up for something if they can get the better ones in other ways? Or leave me a comment if you have been to one of those Denny's Free Breakfast days. :)
